Xantech 291KIT Proximity Sensing System

The Xantech 291KIT Proximity Sensing System is an infrared (IR) repeater system designed to extend the reach of remote controls, enabling users to operate AV equipment located behind closed doors or within cabinets. This kit includes a 291-00 IR Receiver, a 789-44 Connecting Block, a 781RG Power Supply, and four 283M Blink-IR™ Mouse Emitters, providing all necessary components to control up to four devices. The system operates in a 3-wire mode (12VDC, IR, GND) and features a 7-foot cable with a 3.5mm stereo mini plug for easy connection to the connecting block. The 291-00 IR Receiver boasts a reception range of up to 30 feet and a nominal reception angle of ±45°, ensuring reliable operation even in environments with fluorescent lighting. The inclusion of a red talk-back LED allows for system verification, confirming that the IR signals are being received and transmitted correctly. The compact design of the receiver permits flexible placement options, including shelf-top or cabinet installations, making it ideal for home theater systems, entertainment centers, and other AV setups where equipment is stored out of sight.
