The Simplex 650‑768 / 4009 IDNAC Repeater Bay Assembly is a UL/ULC listed addressable module used in TRUEALERT / TRUEALERT ES systems to extend the power and distance limits of the IDNAC Signaling Line Circuit (SLC). It is designed to take input from an IDNAC circuit and provide a repeated output of up to 3 A of SLC current while maintaining nominal voltage of ~29 VAC (or ~29 V RMS) during AC and battery backup conditions. The repeater supports both Class B and Class A input connections and can be configured for Class A/LooP output using the Class A adapter. It includes built‑in diagnostics and status LED indicators, battery charger, and can be powered by internal batteries (sealed lead‑acid) up to ~25 Ah in capacity when external battery cabinet is used. Operating conditions are typical for fire alarm equipment (32°F to 120°F / 0°C to ~49°C, up to ~93% relative humidity non‑condensing). The repeater is housed in a cabinet that allows installation of up to two 12.7 Ah batteries, or larger external battery cabinets for higher capacities. Wiring distance to notification devices can be extended significantly (often 2‑3× standard distances) because of regulated output and maintained voltage under load. This assembly is used in buildings where control panels alone cannot deliver required power or reach to far devices. It provides both output branches (up to four “T‑tapped” branch circuits) and auxiliary output of up to 0.2 A at 29 V for announcements / auxiliary devices. The repeater includes trouble LED indicators, AC power monitoring, low battery disconnect, earth‑fault detection. Weight (unit with cabinet) is higher; specs list the repeater bay assembly itself at ~1 lb when sold separately (e.g. front/rear board / assembly without batteries, cabinet, etc).
- •3 A IDNAC SLC output for extending circuit distance and powering more devices without voltage drop issues.
- •Supports Class A or Class B wiring (both for input and, with adapter, for output); flexible configurations.
- •On‑board diagnostics and local status LEDs (AC power, trouble points, low battery, etc.) for easier troubleshooting.
- •Battery charger included; can accommodate internal or external batteries (up to ~25 Ah with external battery cabinet) to maintain operation during power loss.
- •Regulated output voltage (~29 V) under both AC and battery power so that notification devices (strobes, horns) operate reliably under alarm conditions.
