The Simplex 4906‑9106 is a non‑addressable, weatherproof multi‑candela visible‑only (V/O) strobe from the TrueAlert notification appliance line. It is intended for wall mounting, and is rated for indoor or outdoor use including extended temperature and humidity environments. The strobe is powered by regulated 24 VDC (with allowable range per UL/ULC), and lets the installer select among several candela levels on site via a selection plug behind the housing. The housing is rugged and vandal resistant, made of high‑impact, flame retardant thermoplastic, with a clear lens and “FIRE” lettering for visibility. Wiring terminals are accessible from the front of the device, simplifying installation and testing. It is NEMA 3R rated, meaning protection against rain, sleet, and external ice. The device supports synchronized flash rates when used with compatible panels or synchronization/SmartSync modules, thereby helping reduce nuisance effects when multiple strobes are visible. Because the candela is selectable, inventory management is easier and on‑site adjustments are possible to meet code or field conditions. It mounts to standard single or double gang or 4‑inch square boxes; the back box is ordered separately. It complies with relevant UL/ULC standards for visible signals (UL 1971, UL 1638, ULC S526 etc) and usually meets ADA visible signal requirements.
