The Edwards EST 3-SAC (Security Annunciation Control) module is a vital component of the EST3 Life Safety System, designed to integrate fire, security, and access control functionalities into a unified platform. This modular control system is highly scalable, supporting up to 64 networked panels and accommodating up to 2,500 addressable devices per panel, facilitating seamless communication across extensive facilities. The 3-SAC module interfaces with a high-speed RS-485 circuit known as the SAC bus, which supports fire, security, and access control devices. It manages message traffic from these devices to the central processing unit (CPU) for alarm processing. The module offers flexible configuration options, supporting both Class A and Class B wiring setups. In a Class B configuration, each circuit can include up to 31 devices, totaling 62 devices per module, while Class A circuits can include up to 30 devices.
