Bosch DS950 Motion Detector

The Bosch DS950 is a high‑performance motion detector that integrates both passive infrared (PIR) and microwave (MW) technologies to deliver reliable intrusion detection while minimizing false alarms. Designed for indoor wired security systems, it offers a wide coverage area of about 50 ft by 50 ft (15 m × 15 m) when mounted at standard height, with multiple mounting options including surface, corner, and ceiling. The unit features five layers of detection including a look‑down zone to capture motion close to the floor. It offers adjustable PIR sensitivity and supervised microwave to ensure the device can detect motion even if one of its sensing technologies fails. Anti‑masking, draft and insect immunity, alarm memory, motion monitor supervision, and selectable settings make it adaptable to many installation environments. It is housed in a high‑impact ABS plastic enclosure, operates on 9 to 15 VDC, draws about 22 mA in standby, and is rated for −40 °C to +49 °C (outdoor cold to hot) for non‑UL installations. For UL listed installations the lower temperature is +0 °C. Its compact design and solid feature set make it suitable for commercial, industrial, or institutional use where reliable detection with minimal nuisance alarms is required.
